What We Teach

The following statements are firmly held by our church for the sake of clarity and unity in the faith. This page contains a brief summary of what we teach, while the document linked below provides a fuller testimony of the biblical truth affirmed by all who teach at Mission Bible Church.

  • We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.

  • We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection, and are worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became incarnate; truly God and truly man. Through His perfect life and substitutionary death, He atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation. He was buried, raised, and is now seated at the right hand of God.

  • We believe that mankind fell in Adam, and is guilty and corrupted, needing salvation. All are sinners and are totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure.

  • We believe that salvation is by grace alone as God sovereignly chooses those He will save, not based on individual human merit or foreseen faith, but according to His own good pleasure. Salvation includes regeneration which produces increasing obedience and transformation into the image of Jesus.

  • We believe that God the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowing of all His gifts for the perfecting of saints today, and that speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles in the beginning days of the church were for the purpose of pointing to and authenticating the apostles as revealers of divine truth, and were never intended to be characteristic of the lives of believers.

  • We believe Jesus Christ gave two ordinances to the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion demonstrates faith and obedience to Christ while depicting union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Communion is to be taken together by Christians in a regular manner.

  • We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to receive His people to Himself, to reign, and to judge all mankind. All will be resurrected; the saved are raised to eternal, conscious bliss in heaven, and the lost are raised to eternal torment in hell in conscious separation from God.
