Mission: YOUNG ADULTS

Serving young and passionate people in our local community, Mission: Y.A. provides a place where they come and find answers to their toughest questions through the study of Scripture, foster lifelong relationships anchored in Christ, and utilize their gifts for the glory of God.

Here’s how.

Disciple.

Making and growing disciples is commanded by Jesus Himself (Matt 28:19-20). There are varying levels of Christian maturity present in every church community (1 John 2:12-14), but mature believers are instructed to invest in younger believers. Mission: Y.A. comes alongside this group through two outlets:

  • Discipleship Groups exist to foster the growth and maturity of the saints at Mission Bible Church through biblical discipleship, which promotes ongoing growth in the likeness of Christ and ensures the unity and holiness of MBC. Mission: Young Adults will follow the same study being used by the larger church, driving for consistency across ministries.

  • Quarterly workshops will be available to pursue the ongoing training and growth of the next generation. Workshops may emphasize theological and/or practical training to encourage spiritual growth and faithful stewardship.

Connect.

Fellowship is an essential aspect of life within the body of Christ. Mission: Young Adults seeks to provide avenues for the next generation to come together, foster meaningful friendships, and participate in one another’s lives while growing in their understanding of Scripture and the fear of the Lord.

  • Friday Evenings are dedicated to the next generation as the Mission: Young Adults ministry meets on campus to worship the Lord by singing praises to Him and growing under teaching from His Word.

  • Whether they are new to the church or have been around for several years, Y.A. Gather Events are a simple way for the college-aged saints of Mission Bible Church to come together for fellowship and foster new relationships with other like-minded Christians.

Integrate.

Each believer has been given gifts to glorify God and edifying His church (Rom 12:6–8; 1 Cor 12: 4–11, 28) and is called to be operate as part of a larger body (Rom 12:4–5;1 Cor 12:12, 27; Eph 4:4; Col 1:4). Thus, we spur believers lock in, lay down roots, and integrate in two ways:

  • The membership class is a great way to learn more about what we believe, teach, and are committed to at Mission Bible Church. Following the classes, those desiring to join our body of believers are scheduled for a membership interview. Once approved, new members are then encouraged to get involved in ministry to glorify the Lord, edify others, and minister to the lost.

  • Sunday morning and Saturday outreach provides several ministry opportunities for young adults to participate in. From serving as assistants and teachers in the kids ministry classrooms to passing out bulletins to helping to direct traffic or going door-to-door with the Gospel, we encourage each individual to jump in and serve the body of Christ.

Our Mission

make disciples. Mature Saints.

In recent years countless churches have turned from God-exalting preaching to pop-psychology and pep talks. Meaningful meditation upon Scripture has been substituted with mindless entertainment and emotional deception. Genuine Christian fellowship has become little more than shallow colonies of people sharing common interests. What was once a hospital, training ground, and deployment center of faithful saints heading into the world with the gospel of peace has become a drive-thru stand where dead consciences can be soothed rather than sanctified. Sadly, this caricature of the church has been received with open arms, especially within young adult/college circles.

Serving young and passionate people in our local community who are navigating a temporary world, Mission: Young Adults (Y.A.) strives to provide a place where they come and find answers to their toughest questions through the study of Scripture, foster lifelong relationships anchored in Christ, and utilize their gifts for the glory of God. Utilizing the MBC Discipleship Group format, Mission: Young Adults provides a context for 18 to 24-year-olds to partake of genuine Christian community and participate in meaningful Bible study. These Discipleship Groups are specifically designed to take them deeper in understanding and application as they learn from older, wiser saints and prepare to enter into the next season of life.

Come join us as we dive into God’s Word and grow together!
