Building Update #3 - Phase I

Dear Family,

At this year’s All Member Meeting, we were able to praise God for hundreds of lives impacted by MBC both in Orange County and around the world. We also discussed the possibility of being able to move into a new church facility by this time next year:

Following the Vision Banquet in April, we received ~$860,000 in pledges toward our $1.5 Million goal to secure a church facility that could host 500 people in one service, allow for 12 classroom spaces, and even an on-site seminary space for the future training of Pastors.

Not wanting to extend beyond what the Lord has provided, but still driving toward our goal of a new church facility, our team of pastor-elders has determined it wise to make a Phase I move into a facility smaller than our original goal. Instead of 20,000 sq. ft. It will likely consist of 12,000 sq. ft. Instead of seating 500, it will seat 300.

Phase I will be the equivalent of a newlywed couple moving from their parents’ home into an apartment of their own. The newlyweds will continue to save and prepare for their ‘dream home’ but will enjoy apartment living together for a few years first. This is the type of move every family must make before getting their ‘dream’ home.

Phase I will accomplish the following: 1) It will move our church into a 24/7 ministry space immediately, 2) It will provide our unreached friends, family, and neighbors, a convenient place to attend, 3) It will fulfill 95% of our goals regarding worship, children, training, and missionary work, 4) It will provide us an expedited conduit to the purchase of a long-term home for ministry in central Orange County.

The Orange County, real estate market, is very aggressive. Most vacant properties are leased or sold within a week, and even buyers with A-list financials have a hard time competing for space. This means that our financial reserves and net margins must be in order. When a property becomes available, MBC must come to the table with healthy monthly margins and at least $500,000 cash-in-hand (plus the $200,000 already in reserves). Thus, we cannot overemphasize the value of your generous and immediate giving to the building fund.

We look forward to growing as a family with all of you! For more detail, you can listen to the Phase I segment from our All Member Meeting HERE. The building update section can be found from 14:05 – 18:50 of the recording.
